As the NFL season rapidly approaches, many fans are starting to gear up for another year of exciting football. But with so many teams and matchups to follow, it can be tough to keep track of it all. That’s why today, we’re going to take a look at the best NFL seasons of all time for each team.
For the purposes of this article, we’ll be looking at the regular season only. So without further ado, let’s get started!
AFC EAST
1) New England Patriots: 2007
The Pats had an incredible season in 2007, going 16-0 in the regular season before eventually losing in the Super Bowl. This season was capped off by Tom Brady’s record-breaking 50 touchdown passes.
2) Miami Dolphins: 1972
The Dolphins went undefeated in the regular season (14-0) and capped it off with a Super Bowl win. This is still the only time in NFL history that a team has gone undefeated from start to finish.
3) Buffalo Bills: 1990
Led by Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly, the Bills went a perfect 13-0 in the regular season before losing in the Super Bowl. This was also the first time that the Bills had made it to the big game.
4) New York Jets: 1998
The Jets had a great year in 1998, finishing with a 12-4 record and making it all the way to the AFC Championship game. This was their best season since 1969.
AFC NORTH
1) Baltimore Ravens: 2012
The Ravens had an amazing 2012 campaign, culminating with a Super Bowl victory over San Francisco. This was Ray Lewis’ final season in Baltimore and he led his team to glory in dramatic fashion.
2) Pittsburgh Steelers: 2005
The Steelers dominated NFL defenses in 2005, posting a 15-1 record and winning the Super Bowl over Seattle. This team was led by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and running back Willie Parker.
3) Cleveland Browns: 1964
In one of the most surprising seasons in NFL history, Cleveland went 12-2 and won the championship game against Baltimore Colts. This team was led by Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown.
4) Cincinnati Bengals: 1981
